Dr. Daniel G. Forman received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Cornell University in 1983. After spending a year in Graduate School in search of a Master’s Degree in Reproductive Physiology from The University of Maryland, College Park, he entered veterinary school at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Upon completion of his degree in veterinary medicine in 1988, he was accepted into an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, where he honed his veterinary skills and developed a lifelong love for exotic animal medicine. His greatest achievement was finding the love of his life in veterinary school; a third year teaching resident at Tufts University named M.J. LaRue. They were married in 1991 and have two wonderful sons, Josh and Matt. Drs. Dan and M.J. Forman created Spring Creek Animal Hospital on July 3, 1992, with a total staff of one additional person. Today, Spring Creek Animal Hospital is a fully accredited facility of the American Animal Hospital Association with a staff of over 25 wonderful and caring animal lovers. That is Dr. Forman’s second proudest accomplishment.
Dr. Forman has served on numerous non-profit boards in Jackson Hole, currently serving as Chairman of the Teton County District Board of Public Health and founder of the newly-formed Jackson Hole Police K-9 Auxiliary. He is proud to be the Teton County Emergency Veterinarian for our wonderful valley, and is a Level 1 First Responder for the Department of Homeland Security regarding Bioterrorism issues.
In addition, Dr. Forman serves on the advisory Board of both Wyoming Untrapped and the Teton Wildlife Center in Idaho. He also works closely with Wyoming Game and Fish performing pro-bono veterinary care for species ranging from bears to Trumpeter Swans. Dr. Dan is past Chairman of the Board for the Learning Center (aka Children’s Learning Center), as well as past founding Board Member and staff Veterinarian for the Teton Raptor Center.
Dr. Dan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Wyoming Veterinary Medical Association and Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV). He has been the State Liaison for AAV for many years as well.
Dr. Dan has been honored with achievement awards from the Morris Animal Foundation and the American Canine Association.
Dr. Dan likes cycling, hiking and wonders what it would be like playing centerfield for the Boston Red Sox, not necessarily in that order.
Dr. Dan’s animal family includes two dogs: Mishka and Marley; and two cats: Nesta and Gretzky.
